Start the year off with a bang as you get up close and personal to an amazing art collection in the home and studio of artist Helen Eager. In a candid conversation with Helen’s partner Christopher Hodges (Utopia Art Sydney), the two will discuss Helen’s recent work and her private collection, which includes museum quality pieces by artists such as Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Chuck Close, John R Walker, George Tjungurrayi, Richard Larter and Gloria Petyarre. See and hear how the couple live with their art, meet artists from the collection and share a drink with new and old friends.
Helen Eager has explored colour and light through her paintings, drawings and prints for more than thirty years. Over time her subjects have shifted from interiors and still lifes, through to the abstract images that she is know for today. In 2012, Helen was commissioned to create a wall painting for the circular quay entrance of the Museum of Contemporary Art. Her work is included in major public and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art Gallery of South Australia and National Gallery of Victoria.
